The time has come to talk about the now Oscar winning twice nominated Jennifer Lawrence. Young (22) and fresh faced, this year she lit up our screens with the fantastic Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games. Her performance in SLP, for which she won the academy award was lauded by many critics, as understated and subtle. Despite the film itself lacking pace in places, Jennifer Lawrence manages to steal every scene she is in. It is perhaps this that gave her the slight edge over Jessica Chastain, who was regarded to be her biggest competition, whose dark performance in Zero Dark Thirty is powerful and compelling, doesn't show the depth that J-Law does in SLP, in which she manages to be at times dark, and brooding, yet always likeable. Jennifer's academy award win makes her only the second youngest person to win the award, and the youngest person ever to be nominated for two Oscars. In fact both Lawrence and costar Bradley Cooper have signed up for David O Russell's next two films. Jennifer's win and her mention during the infamous 'boob song' at the Oscars really does prompt a discussion about nudity in film, but lets leave that for another time, shall we?
